 Registration

How do I register for the convention?

Click here to register for the convention. While the registration will remain open during the event, we strongly recommend registering and logging in to the system by August 18th.  This will allow you time to address any technical issues such as firewall and other access restrictions your device or network may impose. During the week of the event, email responses may take longer since our team will be fully immersed in running the various concurrent events and supporting our speakers and panelists. 

What is included in my convention registration?

  • Professional registrations (for both Ascend members or non-members) include:

  • All educational and social sessions (excludes private and invite-only sessions)

  • Ability to earn CPE certificates*

  • Access to the Career Fair on 8/30

  • Student Registrations (for both Ascend members or non-members) include:

    • All educational and social sessions available to students (excludes private and invite-only sessions)

    • Access to the Career Fair on 8/30

    • Access to various mentoring sessions leading up (via Ascend Cafe) to and during the event

Something in my registration is wrong. How can I change it?

Your Socio login information is the email address you provided during registration. If you would like to change your registration details or need assistance, please email ncPlanner@ascendleadership.org.


Virtual Conference Attendee Experience

How does this event work?

You’ll get the full experience of the face-to-face convention from the comfort of your home or wherever you choose. Just like an in-person event, you can connect with other attendees, engage in professional development sessions, earn CPE certificates, partake in social sessions, listen to industry leaders and draw inspiration from all around you, all within the virtual convention platform.

Where will the event be held?

This is an online event. You do not have to travel to any specific location. You can participate anywhere that you have internet access. The event is accessible from desktop, mobile and tablet devices. We strongly recommend using Chrome or Firefox browser for the best Socio experience.



Do I need to download or install any information to be able to attend this event?

You do not need to download or install any software to participate. You only need access to the internet. We recommend coordinating with your IT department to address firewall restrictions on your device and/or network that may prohibit your access to the event.



Is a webcam required?

A webcam is not required to participate for most sessions. However, sessions that are in “meeting” format are meant to be highly interactive and engaging, and audience participation is strongly encouraged. For these sessions, you are encouraged to use your camera.



I'm registered to attend. How do I sign in to the platform?

Your Socio login information is the email address you used during registration.

Will the event be recorded?

Select sessions will be made available to attendees through the convention platform and after the convention.

For Convention attendees, 2021 Ascend National Convention session recordings can be found on the convention platform, Socio including newly added CPE-credit eligible sessions.

Recordings are accessible on desktop access. Recordings on mobile are not available except for these sessions: Scholarship Ceremony and ERG Forum


Session Surveys

Session surveys are available in the Socio platform for each session, and can be completed at any time. It is worth mentioning that these surveys on Socio are different from CPE surveys. CPE surveys will be sent out after the convention and only to those who are eligible.


CPE Credit Certificate of Completion

Are there CPE-eligible sessions offered at the convention?

Yes, we offer CPE-eligible sessions at the convention. The program description on the National Convention agenda will indicate which sessions are CPE-eligible.

How do I obtain CPE Credit Certificate of Completion from Ascend?  

In order to receive CPE Credit Certificate of Completion, attendees must:

  • Attend the CPE eligible session for the full duration of the session and at least 50 minutes based on time logged upon entry and upon departure of the virtually delivered session.  

  • Make a note of codes that will be shared during each CPE-Credit Eligible Session you attend. These codes will be required when completing the CPE evaluation survey.

  • Complete a post-event CPE evaluation survey using the codes shared during the session. A survey will be sent to each attendee and must be completed by date specified to receive a certificate of completion from Ascend

When can I expect to receive the CPE Credit Certificate of Completion from Ascend?

Upon completion of the survey, within 60 days of the course offer and completion date, a Certificate of Completion will be emailed to the attendee.


Good To Know

What is the dress code for the Convention?

While the event is virtual, we encourage attendees to come in business attire or smart business casual in order to maintain a professional environment. 

Can I invite my friends to attend the event?

  • We are also excited to share that August 23rd, day 1 of the convention, is open to all Ascend members, whether they purchased a convention ticket or not.


Cancellation Policy

Consistent with Ascend's policy there will be no refunds offered for cancellations.
