Global #AscendTogether Forum to #StopAsianHate: Hate Knows No Boundaries & Combating it Takes Steadfast Leadership

March 16th marks the one-year anniversary of Spa Shooting in Atlanta, GA which killed eight people, six of which were Asian women. On January 15 of this year, Michelle Alyssa Go was murdered when she was shoved into the subway tracks in NYC. On February 13th, Christina Yuna Le was brutally stabbed 40 times to death in her Chinatown, NYC apartment. And, there are countless other instances where AAPIs are the victims of senseless violence and hatred. In the U.S.A., reported hate crimes against Asians in 16 of the nation's largest cities and counties are up 164% since 2020, according to a recent study from the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at Cal State University San Bernardino (cnn.com). Unfortunately, this is not isolated to the U.S.A. Canada is also experiencing a significant spike in anti-Asian hate crimes.

Join Ascend as we bring together leaders from a cross-section of industries to discuss the rising anti-Asian hate, hear their personal and professional experiences including practical insights on how companies can tackle this scourge of hatred, violence and microaggressions, and the importance of inter-Asian allyship in combating hate.

There will be opportunities for attendees to also share their stories and experiences so we encourage you to come prepared to engage with our speakers and with each other!
